Things should be far better, but they're more or less the same as the previous government. Being slightly better than the Cons on taxes on the well-off isn't an inspiring reason to re-elect these chumps, and they're well within the danger zone of losing the next election over reasons such as this. Why bother voting Liberal if all Canada's getting is less-mean Conservatives. Canadians wanted change , not this tepid nonsense. Worse off, the optics are awful. Canada needs that tax revenue, now more than ever, what with the government fumbling around in regards to that US President who's intent on tanking economies world-wide.

That it's Charlie Angus criticizing this appointment is also important. This may be a case of 'hippie punching': the Liberal government not wanting to appear to consent toward leaning too far forward toward reconciliation with First Nations. At the same time, who in the Liberal Party is well-known for working with First Nations, now? Bob Rae? But he's retired. It'd go a long way if he were to comment on this appointment. If he doesn't comment, that would also say much.

Bill C-51 is odious. It needs to be opposed, especially by the fucking Liberals. Support for this bill is support for fascism. Fuck the Liberals if they vote for this piece of shit legislation!

CTV News I'm not even a Liberal, and I find this disgraceful. It stinks of betrayal. Justin Trudeau made a hell of an announcement, and deserves to be commended for it. John McKay deserves the force of the Liberal Part discipline, and should accept whatever punishment is visited upon him, right up to being drummed out of the party. He should damn well resign because of how badly he embarrassed his party leadership.
